Nothing To Mourn About Poem by Phillip Nine Mafunga

Nothing To Mourn About

Knee high boots
On a daring journey back to my roots
Oral, books n' all, the routes
The future is kept in books; muchmoreso now, digital books

Don't mourn for no one cares
Rather write what you can
For, writt'n words stored are a treasure to posterity
Brooks contain great ideas too

So, I'm not ashamed of my roots
I'll not mourn for the material lack, as it looks
Neither will I continually grieve because of colonial spooks
Rather what I desire to become, will I engrave in the books
