Now That It's Over Poem by Josh Burnett

Now That It's Over

I guess I scared you off.
Just when we were getting close.
I guess it was my own fault,
For pressing it too hard.
I'm the one who drove us apart.
I never meant to break our hearts,
But it's hard to stop,
When the hurting inside starts.
I thought you wanted me.
Thought we could really be,
But I guess it doesn't matter,
How much you really mean.
I waited, but you hurt me.
Turned and walked away,
And I never thought
I'd deal with the pain.

But now that it's over,
I'm not missing her.
It's make me stronger,
I will not cry any longer.

Maybe it wasn't me.
Maybe it was you.
Maybe us two
Didn't think it through.
Maybe our heart's were untrue.
I thought that you always would be
My final tattoo.
You didn't leave me a clue.
To tell me what you were trying to do.
I didn't know you was going to walk out of my view.
Now it's so plain to see,
That we rarely agree,
And now I know that love
Is no guarantee.
I was bent on one knee.
As you said we aren't meant to be.

But now that it's over,
I'm not missing her.
It's made me stronger,
I will not cry any longer.
