O Soul That Lies In Dormancy Poem by Gary James Smith

O Soul That Lies In Dormancy

O Soul That Lies In Dormancy

O soul that lies in dormancy
Come feel the warmth of God
You are standing to far off
For the heat to do any good
Find yourself a comfy chair
Sit back... relax a bit
Oh! ...and don't forget your Bible
For you'll find true warmth in it

The love of God will be made manifest
It will be a feast to your soul
As the Word of God becomes alive to you
And the Holy Spirit takes control
You will feel the warmth of love
As those around Lord Jesus did
When He forgave people for their sins
And enabled them to truly live

Watch the lame man walk...
Look! ...the blind men do see!
The woman at the well Spirit filled
And now living rejoicingly
The empty tomb celebration
Definitely rejoicing there
All heart warming stories of Christ
The Bible tells them here

God has a great heart of love
It can't help but to spill over
And warm the cockles of your heart
Warms it over and over
It's an inward campfire to you
To the awakening of your soul
Don't leave it in dormancy any longer
When Lord Jesus can make you whole

Think of the Word of God as Christ the Word
He'll be near you as you read
Ready and available on your behalf
To God to interceed
Take a moment and give a prayer
Then give a prayer of praise
God be merciful to me a sinner
I thank You for showing me the way!

Hallelujah what a Saviour!
