Obeyed The Heart Poem by Randy McClave

Obeyed The Heart

Rating: 5.0

I gave all to love
All that I had,
All that I possessed
And all that made me glad.
I was given gifts
From love that I had earned,
But, the emotions were only mine
The gifts were all returned.
I was in love
But, then she was not,
I gave to love without knowing
So, I just bought.
She had inspired
And her I had amused,
I wonder what God was watching
As I was used.
I gave it all away freely
I was deceived from the start,
Now I have nothing
I obeyed the heart.

A very compelling poem to read about one sided love which leaves the heart empty. Well written and expressed.
