Ode From A Magic Dragon Poem by Doris Cornago

Ode From A Magic Dragon

Rating: 5.0

We started as players in cyberspace
Transported together in a place
Remembered playing dragons
And you needed gifts
Invited me and
Turned me
Into
A
Magic
Dragon
Following
Your every wish
Until I discovered fire
And wanted more from
A relationship, not just do
Tasks at your bidding, wearing
A mask, careful to hold down the
Itching wish to burn you down, a raging
Inferno, myself and you on our Dragon Island

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
When we come to a relationship, we must stop idealizing but open our eyes to what it truly is. We must ask ourselves truthfully why we are together with this man. To be forever enchanted/mesmerized is dangerous because you cannot live in a fairy tale. You are not Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, or Beauty - your beast is not transforming into a prince anytime soon. Yet, when parting time comes, the sorrow is so overwhelming that we defer to another time. The title is the parody of a popular song 'Puff, The Magic Dragon' which describes the same silly notion of a dragon being the center of someone's attention. The magic is actually a notion of love's transforming power for the woman, as well as, hopefully, for the man.

Robert is right, do not overanalyze love or production is bogged down. Thank you, for this illumination, Robert Murray Smith. :)

Love justifies all, transforms all, makes the waiting bearable. Robert is right, stop analyzing love as productivity is bogged down. Thank you for this illumination, Robert Murray Smith. :)
