Ode To Billie Lee Poem by LeeAnn Azzopardi

Ode To Billie Lee

Rating: 5.0

She was a small-town girl
With the dream of the big city
She had no friends in school
And no way of getting out
Through, the years, she saved her pennies
But never had the courage to go it alone
As she was trapped without hope
And now, with everyone gone from her town
Because there's no jobs to hold
She grows older in solitude
Still dreaming of the big city
