I long for your beauty, your splendor, your grace—
The sun that once pierced through shrouds of gray,
Spilling golden rays upon the seeking,
Igniting our hearts with wisdom's flame.
Within your hallowed halls, green dreams took root,
Blossoming like spring within our yearning souls.
How I hungered for the gifts you bestowed,
Each word a compass, each page a guiding star!
Would that I could be a child once more,
To tread again upon your sacred grounds,
To stand in awe before your storied gates,
To wander the corridors where knowledge dwells.
Would I still find the books I held so dear,
Their pages humming with timeless truths?
Would the friends who shaped my path
Still linger in the chambers of my heart?
I miss you, Islamia High School,
The cradle of my dreams, my second home,
Where the seeds of understanding were sown,
And a part of me found its eternal rest.
Few such sanctuaries grace this earth,
Where wisdom flows like an unbroken river,
And the breeze that whispers through your halls
Carries the fragrance of inspiration untamed.
The teachers—Muslims, Pandits, side by side—
Guiding hands of patience, grace, and light,
Their lessons etched in the annals of time,
Their voices a melody in the echoes of my mind.
O my alma mater, my cherished haven,
A beacon of learning, a fortress of truth!
Though years may stretch and seasons turn,
You remain an ember in my soul, unquenched.
