Ode To Salvation Poem by Joe Nemeth

Ode To Salvation

Hold on tight, we got a chance to win this fight,
With all your might, just try and survive the night

The odds are against, they’ve got us fenced,
Muscles are tensed, it’s time this commenced

Decades of war, no ones left to keep score,
It’s left everyone poor, but still the survivors hearts soar

This is their declaration, they’re not looking for any commendation,
Gonna keep fighting for their salvation, they fight through the desperation,
No one’ll be left to claim domination, of this bitter and shattered nation,
Hide from our own abomination, survivals our only proclamation,

Oh, it’s just me and you, we’ve lost everything we know,
Try to survive, in this world anew, faith in each other’s all that’s true,

Seeing you take everything in stride, fills me with a swell of pride,
Red rose perched on a ravaged hillside, reminds me of our own bumpy ride,

‘Till the end is nigh, there’ll always be stars in the sky,
And ‘till the end I’ll try, for the salvation of you and I
