Ode To Victor Hugo(14)flowers Are More Useful Than Salads

Ode to Victor Hugo(14)Flowers are more Useful than Salads

Inspired by the ‘The Miserable'
Flowers are more Useful than Salads
By: Freeyad Ibrahim

The Bishop's she- servant grew Vegetables
In three of plots
Attentively
The bishop planted flowers in the fourth
There were a few fruit trees
Stood along the wall gently
Mme magloire once said to him teasingly:
‘Monsieur, you believe in making use of everything
But this fourth plot is wasted.'
And she went on sarcastically.
‘Salads are more useful than flowers.'
‘You are wrong, 'replied the bishop promptly.
‘The beautiful is as useful as the useful.'
Then, after a pause, he added:
‘More so, perhaps, '
Paternally!
