Ode To Victor Hugo (41) the Miserable jean Valjean

Plainly frankly to make it obvious
Prisoners are eternelly envious
of birds of all kind and flies
This was the case with Jean valjean
suffered so much from society' s law
The sight of him suggested corn
between millstones ground and torn
The Warder dealt him a bitter blow
Which made his hatred excessively grow
For him the sun did not exist
He worshipped freedom even in mist
His hatred of human laws swelled in time
into hatred of all society..all mankind
Year by year his spirit had whithered
Dry of heart and dry-eyed, bittered.
During his 19 years of imprisonment
He had not shed a single tear
Ugly thoughts jostled in his mind.
Hatred had become his only weapon
He resolved to sharpen it in prison
With the feeling to improve his mind,
he passed judgement upon Providence
The man whom God made Good,
made wicked and evil by man for good!
