Ode To Victor Hugo (9) - ‘The Miserable' Doctrine of Sin
Poem by Freeyad Ibrahim

All earthly things are subject to sin
not all hearts you can win

It looks like the force of gravity
Put the blame upon the society

The faults of women are the faults of husbands
The faults of children are the faults of fathers
The faults of servants are the faults of masters
The faults of the weak are the faults of the strong
The faults of the poor are the faults of the rich
The faults of the ignorant are the faults of the learned

The society is responsible for the darkness

The soul in darkness sins
But the real sinner is he who causes the darkness
