Odessey Of The Moon Poem by G J Salgado

Odessey Of The Moon

It seemed something that we knew from before
Locked away inside a necklace that I wore
After all the times that I lost it
The locket came back from the flames we lit
A taste of what we knew when we were there
It doesn't matter all the things we couldn't share
I stared through the candle in front of my face
Until the fire came and took us to a different place
Of all the places that we've never been
We always seemed to end up here again
We became shadows of who we used to be
Through the dark we were the only ones that could see
We craved for everything that we didn't know
Looking upon the dust that was below
Waiting for the air that we could finally breathe
I was saving him but he was saving me
I danced with him until I couldn't feel the sand beneath
There was nothing there only freedom under our feet
Not another soul in the world it was just us
The ocean and the stars were our canvas
Of all the beautiful places he could've been
He walked into my life and I wanted to paint all of the colors of the world with him
