A North American otter,
Odie at the Lincoln Park Zoo.
Always at home in the water,
I love to live - oh yes I do!
A waterproof coat and webbed feet,
Nostrils and ears close in the drink.
Like a torpedo, oh so sweet,
Through the water, quick as a wink.
Up to four minutes I can stay
Underwater in a submerge,
Looking for food or just to play.
Always with gusto, I do surge.
You oughter be coming on by.
Odie the otter will wave 'hi.'
