Odor Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Odor

An odor to avoid it,
Doesn't rid its smell.
Or prevent anyone,
From inhaling to exhale.
Its purpose is to distract.
And that it does.
To achieve the getting,
Of free attention to it given.

That which smells,
To dismiss yet remains permitted.
Stays just the way it is.
Without determination,
To discover from anyone...
Choosing with a mission,
A cause and the reason...
As to why what stinks,
Has been accepted to allow.
And...
Continue!

As if to make afraid,
Those who would rather tolerate...
Being annoyed and inconvenienced.
By an obnoxiousness to complain about.
While spewing hostilities,
From one gossiping mouth to another.

This is what many will do.
Until someone decides,
To make a difference.
Only to be later accused,
Of being a trouble maker.
