Oedipus Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Oedipus

Oedipus

No of course I am not Oedipus
-I share not his certain
-dilemma and his pains,
-but I am ready, set
-to pull out of sockets
-both of my eyes
-let them go
-and to die

My eyes are spying and betray
-by reading, transmit to brain
-as converts the grape into wine
-muddy vase
-it loses taste and joy if turned to vinegar
-and comfort and normal daily life

So why not?
-yes why not?
-just pull them
-pull them out…
-…throw them to the dog?

In this world the best is being blind!
-not to see the budget spent on
-making and selling or deals in arms
-the worst is stupid
-the worst is Saudi…
-must kill the royals made by Lawrence
-destroy the shit that makes palace
-and Muslims who go for pilgrimage
-pay money to kingdom
-and money with income from oil
-is given and spent
-on the arms; kill Muslims

I am right if I hate this circle
-which ends in supporting USA
-building bombs to murder poor Muslims!
-look at the top four that pay money for the arms
-in reverse are Arabs of Riyadh
-and Moscow and Shanghai but first is USA! ! !
