Feeling so torn
by a quiet war
that rages in my soul…
Desire, responsibility arrayed for battle
heart and mind like sons of a father
locked in loves rivalry…
One gains ground, then falls down
wearied by logic and reason,
subdued but a season
memories of a touch, a kiss
embolden the heart to rise once more
eager to stand its ground.
So goes the war…
desire devastates, these wants they wound
and life lords overall…
could there ever be a winner
when blood is on the left and on the right,
my mind, my heart
will they ever align?
A good attempt in the chapter of love, Brian. You may like to read my poem, Love and Lust. Thanks
