Off Again We Go

after some time

spending all your days

how wonderful to discover

you never turned the page

in all of that maze

of scattered years gone by

you still can cry

as though you were that child

you thought you had long passed

learning to be a grownup

yet still you love the fragrance

of new cut grass

the way that you did then

the feeling of strange bliss

when the night comes in

and a slice of the strawberry moon or

mourning the death of roses in late June

soon your petals too may fall

and you won't understand at all

because your roots remain

dreaming and wondering

will still feel just the same

for alpha is omega

that was promised long ago

omega alpha is

and off again we go.

For me, cataloging types of reverie is a pleasure, like going through a box of family heirlooms. I can't get a handle on your reveries yet. I think they are SUI GENERIS.

Thank heavens. As long as the mind is alive, it finds springboards for reverie in overlooked corners. I would like to catalog the reveries in novels by Herman Melville: REDBURN, WHITE JACKET, TYPEE, MOBY DICK, and PIERRE.
