my grandfather
named Domingo survived
the japanese
occupation

so did my great
grandfather named
Modesto
who survived
the first world war

his grandson named
Gino, hopefully,
in God's grace and with
the protection of
both Domingo and Modesto,
shall survive
this invisible enemy,
and which should not be
taken for granted,
or a joke,

this virus, this killing
virus
which already wiped away
some doctors
and politicians...

oh my! shall it include
the prince or the queen
of this bountiful land?
