Oh No! Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

Oh No!

My precious gentle kitty cat was so proud
As he carried a lifeless trophy to my feet
His demeanor was that of an accomplished pro
Expecting praise… his mission was complete

My heart sank when I saw the deceased Robin
No longer would I hear it’s lovely song
Sadness trickled through my contracting veins
My cat didn’t understand what he did was wrong

Trying to explain in a controlled tone
I said, 'Robins are off limits… not fair game…'
He looked at me with a quizzical look
Licking his paw nonchalantly … accepting no blame

From his point of view it was just something to do
Admittedly premeditated…he didn’t consider it a crime
I have difficultes dealing with his feline instincts
I’ll try to pardon his misdeed over a period of time

lol............not only he didn't think he did something wrong, but he expected a praise, for he brought you a present................
