Old Man Taking A Long Walk Poem by Dorsey Baker

Old Man Taking A Long Walk

An old man
is contemplating
he has lived
the better part
of his life
more than half
a century years young
he is taking a long walk
down to the beach
a group of teenagers
run pass him
as he slowly moves his fragile
body
down the street
he is going down to the beach
he will watch
the people
as they bathe
in the sun
and swim in the ocean
this keeps him from
becoming a victim
of depression
and loneliness
