I was born in a bank - - my mother went there and made a deposit

Old Wes 06: Happy Birthday, Wes Vogler!

Wes Vogler should be up in Heaven,
but he has just turned eighty-seven!
Along with his wife,
he's had a good life.
Does he eat his bread without leaven?

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
My friend Wes Vogler's birthday is 3 May. This poem was written last month and saved for his birthday. He is the sharpest 87-year-old I know.

How does he stay so healthy at his age? Does he eat unleavened bread?

His cartoon + limerick series, The Adventures of Oogie, is set to be re-started today. Check it out. You will like it.

This poem lasted almost a year and a half before it obtained one of those obnoxious soundtracks and was deactivated. I don't think Wes ever saw it, because he never commented on it, and he was commenting on most of my poems back then. Maybe he will see it this time.
