Om Namasivaya! [ Protect Us Lord Siva! ] Poem by Rajendran Muthiah

Om Namasivaya! [ Protect Us Lord Siva! ]

The pilgrims' coach built in Lasa [Tibet-China]
plied at a height of eighteen thousand feet
in theTibettan plateau, smoothly, as the drivers
are very nice and skilful in that holy land.
The weary Indian travellers showered praises
on the Chinese for the well-laid road towards Mt. Kailash.

When you enter the Tibettan land,
You have to wear thermal wears, your usual dresses
and the sweaters, gloves and caps
to keep your body warm and your heart ticking.
When you step out of the bus to attend natural call
the killing chill winds make you shiver.

The clime in Nepal delights and also the food
but that in Tibet blights. The rope cars in Pokra
and Chandragiri in Nepal make it an wonder land!
The frosty wind blowing around the lake,
Manasarover, the source of water for Asia,
makes breathing difficult and keeps us awake!

"Om Namasivaya!Om Namasivaya", the pilgrims yell
to quell the biting cold and lull themselves to sleep.
