On Ship Board Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

On Ship Board

Rating: 2.8

We were on board for an island journey
Far off from crowded place with all kind of luxury
No one confided in us that sea could be rough and hostile
Ship was cruising with favorable wind meanwhile

All of sudden the lightening struck from the sky
Dark clouds appeared all of sudden with full try
The ship was on mid sea and weather took dramatic change
As if to warn human brain to wait for the revenge

Sea water is generally calm and peaceful
Its vast horizon is blue and open for adventure to make it successful
We were on simple pleasure trip and got trapped
It was feared that in no time it may wrapped

Sea level was rising alarmingly
It struck on sideways heavily
Whole ship was in full cry to disintegrate
We were offering prayers to escape the fate

Passengers of all ages worshipped with good faith
To help come over the crisis and spared from death
The old memory of sea disasters took over the grip
Many shouted with cry help and helplessly wept

Sea was infuriated and wanted to swallow
The entire ship crews were pressed to allow
Any members willing to sail in life boat
Or any means available to remain afloat

It rained heavily with high speed wind
I sat in corner but nothing was visible to find
Only I could see blue waters and no land in sight
The ship was drifting away and could hardly be seen without light

Suddenly weather came to rescue and wind slowed down
There appeared some hope and faded away some dangers already known
I prayed sincerely for sparing hundreds of lives
People were on board and waiting to dive

Sky in no time cleared off and stars came out
The moon was also seen and there was much to talk about
We all were on board and greeted each one with affection
I wondered at the dramatic change and thanked almighty for kind action
