On The Edge Of The Ocean Poem by Isak Boyd

On The Edge Of The Ocean

I stand on the edge of the ocean
and call your name
My heart to yours

The distance evaporates with each inhale
and each exhale bring us closer

I breath into your core,
you stop and smile
and send your soul back

No one said Love would be this hard

Our worlds entangled forever,
in this life, the next and the one before

The waves break, in unison
as they always do
again and again

As the sun sets, the breathing stops.
We close our eyes
until this world becomes our world
and this pain becomes ours

To hold and nourish
together.
