On the border of the border
The sky caught fire
Warnings went unheeded
But the soul did not expire
On the border of the border
The stars were melted down
Turned into a kind of weaponry
In a nightmare caught and bound
When sorrow struck the ground
On the border of the border
Warnings went unheeded
From the soldiers at their post;
Everything was ceded
Not to the Holy Ghost
Hostages were taken
While no angels looked away
Such a thing to happen'
On a bright October day
Regimes held sway
The innocent must pay
The soldiers at their post
Not high enough in rank
To have their warnings listened to
As their hearts sank
By their own betrayed
On a bright October day.
