Once again, the unseen stirs within me,
I set my heart on what I cannot hold.
But the flashes—they come and go,
like wind slipping between my ribs,
arriving softly, leaving abruptly.
Tell me, what is it about the unseen
that lingers, that I ache to see?
I long to tear down the veil—
just to glimpse the light behind it.
I quest for the unseen,
stirred by the longing to know Him—
to touch the horizon where sky and sea kiss.
'I'm all yours, your source, ' whispers the wind.
Yet when I ask, 'What is this? '
the unseen folds into mist.
Why must I see you distant
when I'm already holding you?
Your shadow dissolves at dawn,
leaving only the hush of the unseen.
What is it about the unseen
that stirs my heart so?
Why do I yearn to meet you,
to touch, to hold, to know?
Why, when you remain imperceivable—
like a flame behind closed eyes—
when no eye can see you,
yet you see all eyes?
The Longing for the Unseen lingers!
