Once, Madly In Love Poem by Randy McClave

Once, Madly In Love

If she had let me be her groom
I would had given her the very moon,
I would had given her all that I had
To always make her glad.
I had already given her my heart
I gave her that from the very start,
But, my heart stoped beating
When I knew that she was cheating.

I would had given her all that I had on my plate
If she had vowed to be my mate,
And if she had been mine forever more
I would had given her all in any store.
When I looked upon her with my eyes
I then saw the greatest prize,
But, soon my eyes never stopped crying
When I saw her lying.

If she had lovingly taken my last name
I know that I would had never felt the same,
I would had been walking forever on clouds
Alone, and also standing in the crowds.
Whenever that she was near
Her angelic voice I needed to always hear,
But, then I stopped listening
When she spoke of hate her voice stopped glistening.

If she had stayed in my life
By the grace of God she would had been my wife,
My body and my soul would had been hers alone
Never more would I ever moan.
Then she done me many times wrong
Now I sit on the couch alone humming a sad song,
I now think how it once was
And how I once was deeply and so madly in love.
