One Lucky Day Poem by Taher Shemaly

One Lucky Day

I would get the stars,
from the heavens, see?
Or even swim the seven seas,
maybe if you just asked me.
I would warm up high,
what the winter's sun forbid.
Or maybe lift the mountains,
like Hercules never did.

No power, no magic,
no high up self esteem.
In the matter of fact,
I'm not asking for,
a love to attract.
Baby, all I'm asking for is,
just one lucky day.

There could be chances,
there could be a disaster.
There could be a world,
running away as we run after.
But I believe,
in the light that guide us.
In a revolving life,
around and around all around us.

Like losing my way,
and there's nowhere to stay
my mind is wary,
for what I want to say,
and my belief is...

No power, no magic,
no high up self esteem.
In the matter of fact,
I'm not asking for,
a love to attract.
Baby, all I'm asking for is,
just one lucky day.
