One Way Route Poem by Oscar Munir

One Way Route

For the past few months I have realized my speed was too much,
I've hit humps mindlessly,
Fallen into potholes without braking,
Sign posts that clearly stated 50 miles per hour, I literally drove at 100.

For more than once I have driven on sides I shouldn't have,
Dodging vehicles coming my way on a one-way route,
It's illegal everywhere in the world you know this right?
But I have beat red lights as I drove and
paid no respect for any road signs.

Now that I'm back to my senses and love is a two way traffic,
It's draining to love someone so much and they love you just a bit,
You risk and give your whole to them but they can't seem to appreciate,
I'm glad I've seen the indicators now I have read the last signs.

Until you learn to put effort in loving me,
In loving me the same great way that crosses limits,
Until you cherish me the same way I do you,
From this car I'm stepping out for now I'm not ready to crush.
