" Onion" Taught Lesson! Poem by Queeny Gona

" Onion" Taught Lesson!

Rating: 5.0

Salt adds taste
So do Onion;
Quenches the deliciousness of a meal.

Inevitable is its use
Either in cooking the edibles
Or in garnishing the dishes.

Part and parcel
Of Indian kitchen supplies
Now on sky; of its prize.

Oh! We long
To feel the Apple of our eyes
Soon in our life's!

Year 2019
Give back the poor
The yummy gift

Before you pass by
To celebrate
The New year 2020

In peeling off
The dust of our hearts
By chopping "ON-I-ON"

A lovely poem with punches. A great satire with a meaningful message on the importance of onion. Beautifully crafted write.

A very nice poem on onion. How its price has sky rocketed and it is slowly vanishing from Indian kitchens. Enjoyed the poem. Thanks for sharing.
