Only A Glimpse. Poem by Ace Of Black Hearts

Only A Glimpse.

Just a laspse in judgement.
Just such a simple mistake.
Now I'm going backwards.
Putting more and more distance between us.
I can't help but hate you for all you are.
You never lied or pretended you weren't.
I was under some illusion that in time you would change.
Spellbound by past intereptations.
But now I see much more then just a glimpse of the history of heartfelt bias.
Our weakness was the same, but it destroyed us in different ways.
But the link was always him.
A chain that has been both warped and broken.
Without recgonition.
A cold shoulder with a business proposition.
The door open, then it closes.
Ignoring the truth.
A damaged road.
And one in which I can not travel.
I'm sure in time repairs will be made.
But it's too late now.
I feel in love with a image within a painting.
And it portrayed someone so happy, so excited to be living life not just going through motions of getting by.
Nothing nearly as in common as I thought.
There is no spark, there is no smoke, there is no fire.
No anger, no rush, no emotion at all.
I don't know where she went, but it isn't here.
So it's time to plan my exit stage right.
To avoid any possible spotlight.
Cause I don't desire or want the attention.
I've discovered you venom only shows with people on there way out.
And I rather leave on my own accord with a certain amount of given notice.
Without causing a scene.
Unscathed, unharmed, a security blanket no more.
Thank you for helping me when you didn't have too.
