Only Her - Poem by Karmel Clune
How can tears be shed, when she's gone, when she's never seen you bleed for her, never seen you cry for her? How can you cry over something you never had, something that only happened in dreams, something you could only wish for?
(Such a love, so strong.)
Why change, for someone who won't change for you? Why follow these empty dreams followed by a longing pain right down to your stomach, flitered through your heart?
(How can dreams be empty, when your heart believes?)
When do you give this wish away, let it float towards the stars of other tears that dropped and fell apart?
(When wishes die, your heart dies too.)
What lengths to go to, to see that grin, smiled for you? What words could show how you feel for her, how you long for her, how you wish for her? What words could show?
(The length of the sky, to glance a glance into her eyes.)
Who steals the light from the sun as it falls between clouds? Who steals stars to brighten your life when its fallen dull? Who tears out your heart when you need it most? Who bleeds for you but never shows?
(Only her, always her.)
