Original Image In God Poem by Dr. Antony Theodore

To attain the original image in God,
absolute detachment is the way.

Read many writings both of
philosophers and sages,
of the Old and the New Testaments,
and of all sacred scriptures
of the great religions of the world
and earnestly and with all diligence
seek the best and the highest
virtue whereby man may come
close to God and wherein
he may once more become
like the original image
as he was in God
when there was yet no distinction
between God and himself
before God produced creatures.

No other than absolute detachment
from everything that is created
can a human being attain
the intimate nearness to God.
