Origine Du Foret De Marbre.(Translation) . Poem by Michael Walker

Origine Du Foret De Marbre.(Translation) .

L'enfance pointille de corps.

Laissez-les aller, qu'ils soient des fantomes.

Non, ai-je dit,
faites qu'ils restent, faites-les en pierre.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
He saw many bodies of the dead in his childhood. Someone advises him to let them go, forget them. No, he wants them to stay, make them marble statues. I think it is important to remember those who have passed away, so he is right.
