Orison Poem by ENOCH JOHN

Orison

Think of the patriarch Jacob travailing thru the night with an angel,
Of David's penitence after he had taken Bathsheba from her spouse,
And of the many saints of old whose life came to epitomise prayer.

So that we can say: Help us Lord in our debility, please forgive us
For our mendacious ways; help us to walk in rectitude,
And forgive us for our contumaciousness, Amen!
