Other Doors Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Other Doors

I had to walk away,
From stale limitations.
And invitations to repeat,
Familiar avenues I knew...
Offering a comfort.

I needed to explore other doors.
I needed to test my faith more.
I needed my wants and wishes,
To have me in the midst of them.
Proving my confidence,
Had me involved in their creation.

Other doors to open.
And leave behind if I chose.
Would and could not happen,
From sitting with wishing it does.
