Our Friendship Poem by Alice Cordy

Our Friendship

Our friendship restarting from a text,
Wonder where it would lead to next.
We originally met through the footy
Watching our kids kick the ball with their booties.
I volunteered as the manager in the café,
Ensuring food for the day
You use to make me an early morning coffee,
Where I would sweeten you up with red frogs toffees.

Now we talk for hours,
Expressing our true colours,
Both being honest and true
Not only to me but openly to you.
Nothing to hide,
As we believe in our own self pride
Time just flies bye,
Like a blink of an eye.
It would be way pass midnight
So it's time to say "Good night".

Our life experiences are like no other
Even though we are either a father or a mother.
Knowing our friendship will grow
Beyond today and tomorrow.
Unsure of what's around the corner
Our hearts will be a lot warmer.
Due to a friendship has re-started
Accepting wholehearted,
A kind word spoken from a friend,
Hopefully there will be no end.
