Out Of A Box Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Out Of A Box

It can be taken.
From right out of a box.
Shown to admire.
With this done a lot.
Then back in that box.
It goes to be locked.
And the one who has the key,
Who knew what it was.
As did those near to clearly see.
Will say as if absent mindedly.
To announce publicly to have believed.
That what had been paraded around.
No one saw.
Or should accept what they thought.
With others also to have seen.
Should instead refuse in protest.
Against anyone suggesting,
Deception was used.
And that view they should only accept.
To expect to hear.
