Out Of Sight, Out Of Mind Poem by Ima Ryma

Out Of Sight, Out Of Mind

The U.S. justice system is
Still trying to win the drug war.
The guilty are sent off to priz,
Where any drug, guilty can score.
So when released the druggie goes
Right back to bad habits as though
Nothing has changed. The system knows
It's all an unjust waste for show.
High tech up the druggie convict,
Surveillance all the night and day.
Get treatment for the drug addict,
Who can be put to work to pay.

Non violent guilty of crime,
Let service, not jail, be the time.
