Out Of Time Rhyme Poem by Ima Ryma

I did not heed the warnings that
I needed to evacuate.
I thought my home and habitat
Was safe, all I need do was wait.
The volcano eruptions were
Never my worry in the past.
I stayed put then, and now was sure
The lava flowing would not last.
But now around my house I see
The lava flowing ev'rywhere.
In a short time lava will be
A burden that I cannot bear.

Back then I could have beat the flow,
But now I've got no place to go.
