You walk down the street in your fancy suit
Diamonds and gold to show off your fruit
When riches and fame are your primary goals
You give up your soul at the crossing roads
They say beyond here is nothin' to find
Why don't we walk out of time and mind.
When night is done at the break of dawn
The serpent slithers through the lawn
The rooster crows and cracks his whip
Racing his chariot for a soul bound trip
They say beyond here is nothin' to find
Come, let us break out of time and mind
The ship is ready and the sails are all set
Nothin' been said or done to regret
My baby once gave me an apple to eat
Since then her spirit makes my heart beat
They say beyond here is nothin' to find
Come, let us sail out of time and mind

Yes, another good one. Like your rhythm, I might make one suggestion: in the second line of the third stanza, add an s after the apostrophe. I think you may feel the difference. Adeline
I am trying to imagine this place 'out of time and mind'. It sounds like a magical place beyond everything. A space to find sanctuary in. A curious poem that made me think.10/10.
'Come let us sail out of time and mind' wonderful poem with an excellent message. We can only live in present moment and present moment holds all. Past is gone, future not arrived, so lets live Now!

Interesting piece - great imagery and a nice easy rhyming and flow. Well done! Linda : -)
