Ozara Poem by Emmanuel Joseph Olumakiss

Ozara

Ozara the place we call home
Where dreams are for dignitaries
And children of benefits
Here we are relatives to impoverishment
Among the lack bearers
And the separate part of human
Declined with the right approach to healthy living
While running errands in the hand of the affluents
The ones familiar with fame were born for privileges

Was it nature that erupt us?
Making life indecent to the choice of many
Our dwelling bemoan attack
With grown trauma
Wary of the strong
As season goes by
We become thorn among our flesh
To our inhabitants and our creed
Our future led to rest
By beast of many burdens
Ranging from our custodians
Gender and genetics

Ozara the place of the living
Whose choice is that of wildlife
A country of many colours
Clothed with numerous tongues
Where vengeance is seen in the hand of human
And enmity live among us

When a leader is called to serve
Does it not show in the face of the people!
Dreams poured out to the drainage
As depression stares at us

Ozara is a place of rest that we found restive
A land of hope that was made hopeless
A home of pride with undeserving pain
Both tribes and returnees are always on a ''U'' turn
Running to the nearest end
Where leadership don't stand as a threat
Knocking the ways of men

Here our survival is via packaging
Dancing to sound and melodies
Running the ways of life
As one that's well composed
Covering our chains and challenges
Besides we enjoy little
Smiles written over our familiar faces
Inside of us comes this rage and flame
That begin our endless end
As we sought our riddles without remedies.

Ozara is our native
A country of many nations
With grey but still growing
Living for the benefits of us
Not the love of our natives
A region desecrated by greed
Out of the abundance of the land
We wallow in hunger and lack
