Pain Poem by Fernando Alvarez

Pain is all I know. It's all I understand.
If I didn't feel all this pain,
i'd be lost; i'd be confused.
The pain is searing. It burns my soul.
The scars are too deep to hide.
The pain is too hard to conceal.
Tears just stream down my cheeks,
Not ceasing. Can't make it stop...
My heart aches, it used to melt;
When u kissed me, when u held me.
When u said I love you.
Now it aches with a pain that doesn't end.
It's broken, shattered to pieces.
Nothing can fix it; nothing will make it better.
Love is no longer my friend. It is my enemy.
Love is no longer something beautiful.
It's a hideous beast.
Broken hearts and bruised souls can never fully heal.
But in a way i'm glad, because pain is all i know.
