Pain & Pride Poem by Freeyad Ibrahim

Pain & Pride

Rating: 5.0

By Freeyad Ibrahim

Men with power are thirsty
for control of lands
along the waters,
broad and Wide
They do not feel the thirst
of those who are thirsty
or who of thirst has died,
Nor the hungry for food
Nor the pain of the bereaved
Pained in the livers and entrails
Who has long lamented the loss
and Cried
Nor the tears of a child
who has lost his mother
small brained but big eyed
Nor the pain of a mother
who has lost her child
Who was once a beautiful bride
Nor a doomed father
Who has lost his daughter,
and lost accordingly his pride.

The wicked, the despots
think only of a Scratch
in the heart
ever inflicted by a fool
with no guide!
