Pandemic Scare Poem by ER Bron Chiong, RSW

Three years of the dangerous COVID-19 plague
the deadly germ that came from Central SE China
where the cradle of urban civilization in the Yangtze River
a city known for its 3500 years of history
in Hubei province, lies the city of Wuhan
the government tried their best to keep this a secret
but an ailing doctor spills the beans to the world
thus, everything was laid down to rest in history

an infectious disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus
kept on mutating as it tries to adapt to the change
doctors and scientists worked hard to find a solution
holding the whole world as hostages at intense fear
there are 6,294,934 global deaths and increasing
brings to mind a similar plague in human history
almost everyone of us are seemingly affected
the worldwide total of 525,192,186 cases

the virus that afflicted only mammals as told
from bats to monkeys to human transmission is unclear
where the global governments of concerned nations
implements the necessary WHO health protocols--
face masks, face shields and social distancing
alcohol or soap washing of hands from time to time,
body thermal temperature and contact tracing
prevents massive infections with social responsibility

that's the kind of life we are living today
education changed its face to face stance
the safest online classes in WIFI technology
the apps that paved the path of the new normal
business, government and travel transactions are at lose
community lockdowns and vacuum along the way
vaccines were developed and tested to prove
this phenomenon is still controlled by GOD of science
