Our Fathers' Day Poem by ER Bron Chiong, RSW

On this particular day for all Fathers
to the three finest Fathers of all time—
the all-knowing and loving Father above,
my biological patient father who begets me
and the responsible father of our great nation
without the marks of each one of them
the day's celebration is incomplete

to the first lover who shown his greatest love
by sending his son to die for me and you;
to my faithful father who did his best part
to rear me in the proper and godly way he knows;
and to the fearless writer, patriotic and a known polyglot
who instilled the genuine love for freedom
on the hearts of the proud Malayan race

to the three model-fathers above
you're all worthy to be praised by me
to be remembered in each passing years
and honored on this particular day
for the countless things you have done
in this fast-changing world of today
and of the future and for all eternity

to all fathers of each generation
thank you for the lessons you taught
to make our lives not perfect but still
complete to live in respect and dignity,
in love and equality for every mankind
regardless of color, creed and status
that's the legacy you wanted us to live
in harmony for our common good
