Pangea Poem by Airda Jones

Pangea

What was once one piece
No longer can be
Now that times have changed
And is no longer free

But a freedom that
Is willingly offered to
Now be part of a land
That has together, grew

It's peninsulas now
Are no longer straight and free
But twisted like vines
Around a solid, stable tree

The twists are hard to
Overcome since they differ
One smooth and calm while
Chaos is all the other offers

However wrapped together
They make one fine sight
And fit perfectly together
As does day and night

Passing the twists and bends
Appears to be a valley
Created by two smooth walls
Coming together to create the 'v'

Both sides sculpted as if
Mother nature were an artist
Smooth and also so sleek
Appearing to have a natural mist

A faint quake deep within
Can hypnotize anyone in its path
And as the mist grows
So the quaking grows fast

But hurrying on is so hard
When hills lie up ahead
Still the quaking follows
So follow where it led

To a rolling plain that
If possible, may be
Swaying to the wind
Moving like soft greens

And the grasses fine
Each silk blade
Unbelieveable to the truth
Such finesse in what God has made

Then to the sight
Lie two paths of course
And a faint glow where
Right above lies the source

One steep side has its
Stubble grass growing its own way
While the other is silk smooth
As if all has eroded away

Then up, up, up
The higher up it grows bright
So much that I am
Blinded in my sight

Four islands stare
Two pair of each
As if touching the other
But just slightly out of reach

Here is where the glow
Radiates its intense heat
Where the movement and the feeling
All come together and meet

Where pools of desire
Melt you in your place
And true passion shows
It's rare face

Where peace is found
Embedded in deep
And in the silence
There is the most perfect serenity

A journey of time
And discovery of life
The perfect combination
Of these two intertwined.
