Panic & Peace Poem by Hannah Diane Williams

Panic & Peace

The sadness is taking away
My oxygen.
Slowly, breath by breath,
Until one day, I can't breathe
At all anymore.

The panic rises
In my chest.
And the invisible hands
Tied around my throat
Tighten Quickly.

And suddenly,
I can't breathe anymore.
And I don't feel my heartbeat.

And it may seem kind of crazy
Because no one is saving me,
But I'm finally at peace.
