Paradise Poem by Juan Olivarez

Paradise

I'm sure somewhere, the sun is shining,
The clouds have gone away.
And somewhere all the birds are singing,
And all the children are at play.

And there is a place, I'm very sure,
Where tears are still unknown.
That there is no pain you must endure,
For on the wind it's blown.

There must be a place where little ones,
Are always safe and sound.
Where they can play, and jump, and run,
And no face bears a frown.

The word paradise comes to mind,
Or maybe shangri-la.
That is the place we need to find,
Perhaps a distant star.
