Parent's Wisdom Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Parent's Wisdom

Rating: 5.0

Childhood days reappeared
Someone came from rear
Put hand silently on eyes
I failed to remove but forcibly tried

What a days to remember?
Parent worried and members too
“Where to find this naughty fellow”!
Father may shout and threaten blows

We used to visit mango farms
Steal some mangoes and cause little harm
Farmer may come at home and complain
Father may smile inwardly but feel pain

He may secretly confide and give some money
Farmer may go back with no worry
We knew it was liked by father
As he used to narrate his child days further

We were not used to such harassment tactics
We will be resorting to make loud noises
Neighbors too may tolerate as we were not of that kind
Little here and there were of no concern for them to mind

Mother used to extend her hand over head
She may ask affectionately and try to read
If at all I had some need for money
I was not aware of importance so decline politely

Father too may bring some new sweets
Distribute to all friends and greet
It was his nature to call everybody with love
We were literally not afraid of him and drove without fear

How such days can be forgotten?
We were easily let of even
Loved by all and moved with freedom
It was feeling of free bird with parent’s wisdom
